The analyzations of the elements in Jaw’s is first the use of the underwater-perspective camera shots of a woman swimming at the beach during night hours. Of course the
classic Spielberg shot of the camera pushes into subject. For example the
famous Jaws scene’s called “Get out of the water” when Brody
played by Roy Scheider sees the shark take under one of the kids that is
swimming, the subject is in focus but everything around him is out of focus.
Also, that scene has the Point Of View shot taken over the shoulder of one of
the character which represents the third person.
The visionary director Steven Spielberg has a lot of
signature and remarkable shots in Jaws. There’s a large number of long takes
and dolly movement, close up shots of characters being introduce by long
dialogue parts to demonstrate emotional empathy of the scene. This old 70’s
retro film certainly has Spielberg directing writing all over the shots.
